- Good understanding of the principles and practices of energy trading and risk management, both physical markets and derivatives trading
- Ability to efficiently and objectively carry out research, surveys and audits.
- Experience of developing energy market training programmes for classroom and internet delivery.
- Knowledge of energy market information - its sources, characteristics, uses and value.
- Experience of negotiating commercial agreements between information providers and users in the energy markets.
- Extensive experience in performing strategic information reviews for major energy trading companies.
- Ability to understand requirements - to review and analyse information systems, evaluate strategic requirements and identify valuable new products and services.
- Ability to write clear specifications and designs - identifying what users really need and recommending how these needs can be met within technical and economic constraints.
- Ability to research and identify new markets for information and technology products.
- Practical knowledge of strategic product marketing for information technology products.
- Independence from any information provider or software vendor and ability to provide unbiased, objective advice.
